The Absolute Best Part of Creating the Body You Want

Note From Hanna  Celebration!   Nope it’s not the upcoming holidays. It’s even better! This week I got to graduate from running 5 minutes (yes total) to running 8 minutes. While that may not sound like much, since I hadn’t been able to run at all for several months and walking has even been painful, my perspective has been transformed. As my physical therapist has been starting me over from scratch, what I have realized is what a privilege it is to walk and run and move my body. And that perspective is an absolute gift. So yes, I am joyfully celebrating this progress! I GET to do this. And I can complain and moan about it and see myself as a victim, or I can embrace it as the absolute opportunity it is to take my wellness and well-being to an even higher level. This experience is affirming how integral my body is in guiding me on my Spiritual Adventure. Pain, weight-gain, illness—my body has always been an incredible indicator of spiritual- and personal-growth opportunities. These are my body’s way of saying, “tune in, slow down, pay attention, listen with your heart, let go of judgment, step up, shift your perspective, remember who you really are, refocus on what you really want.” My body ALWAYS lets me know there is something I’m looking at inaccurately, or a new level I am ready to achieve. When you shift your focus from your body being your enemy—it doesn’t work right, it gains weight too easily, it doesn’t lose weight easily enough, it breaks down—and accept that it’s messages have incredible value, it becomes like a treasure map. Losing weight becomes an amazing Spiritual Adventure instead of the torturous experience that leaves you physically battered and psychically bruised. Embracing the adventure is what completely breaks […]

Tips to Boost Your Weight-Loss Success

Note From Hanna    Empowered!  As I watched this video from Britain’s Got Talent, I marveled at how such a talented and beautiful woman could struggle with such self-doubt.   But in reality, I’m no different from her. And neither are you. I know that’s a bold thing to say. But the truth is everyone struggles with self-doubt. Everyone worries about being judged . . . and not being good enough in some area of their life. And too many women allow other people’s judgments to determine their value and self-worth, which can crush their dreams. I did it. Even though I have made a career as a professional writer, it’s only been in the last month that I broke through old self-doubt resulting from past criticism to allow myself to do something I hadn’t done in almost 20 years. It is with great joy that I’ve been inspired to take up my first love–creative writing. There’s a part of me that doesn’t even want to share this, because I’m wanting to nurture and protect this vulnerable—and exceptionally valuable—part of who I am. The old fear and doubt wants to whisper in my ear. But there is also the joy, freedom, and empowerment of no longer letting that fear and self-doubt get in my way. I’m writing because I love to write. I’m writing because I love the story that has formed in my head. I’m writing because it is a long-held dream. I’m writing because it is who I truly am. I’m writing because fully embracing the whole of me—regardless of the “results” or “success”—is the greatest gift I can give to this magnificent world. And none of that is reliant on anyone approving of what I do . . . or even how well others judge that I […]

Being “Hangry” and Other Signs Your Self-Care is Out of Balance

Note From Hanna    Creative  It was 48 degrees this morning when my dog, Willow, and I headed out the door for our 2.5 mile run/walk/stop and smell interesting smells. (That last part is mostly Willow but someone’s breakfast did smell incredibly enticing as we went by!) I’m craving heartier cooked fare, like healthy soups and stews. And the creative ideas are coming fast and furious! It is definitely feeling like the crisp bounty of Fall! Many of the ideas that I’m having are resonating strongly with clients before I even can market them. For instance, after mentioning a new program I’ll be officially announcing next month, 2 clients signed up immediately. Love Your Way: The Powerful Woman’s Path to Radiance is a life-changing 6-month program designed to unlock the secrets of self-love. Learning to love yourself is truly at the core of releasing the weight for good—or achieving any of your heart’s desires.   You have to discover your true value and how fabulous you really are . . . first. Plus, it will give you the structure and support you need to love your way through the holidays. (It may be hard to believe, but we will be ringing in the New Year is just over 14 weeks.)  Be on the lookout for more information on this ground-breaking program. And if you are already feeling like it might be for you, contact me before September 30 and get the $200 early bird discount. And while I’ve cut my blog back to 3 days a week, I’m being inspired to write—a lot! One of the things I’m writing is a chapter for an upcoming book. I’m super excited to be one of 31 experts coming together to create a powerful program to help you enhance, […]
