Design Your Future

Have you ever had success with a diet, but when you tried to go back to it you just couldn’t make it work?

Did you love to do an exercise that now feels like slow death by torture?

My guess is you think the reason this happens is because there is something wrong with you.

You may have thoughts like, “If only I were more disciplined, or stronger.” Or maybe you think, “It’s because I’m getting older.”

What if none of the above is true?

What if it there is no “one way” to achieve optimal wellness? What if is a natural part of the process for your actions to evolve and change as you do? What if the flaw in your thinking is that the past solution is the only solution?

It is normal and natural that the solutions that work for you—and that you enjoy—will change over time.

This is because you are not the same person you were even as you started reading this blog. Your experience of these few moments has influenced Who you are. This is a constant process going on every moment of every day.

This is an important part of your life journey.

‎”Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness. How do you know this is the experience you need? Because this is the experience you are having at the moment.”

–Eckhart Tolle

What people forget is that the moment they are feeding their body is a life experience. The time you spend moving your body is not a timeout from living your life. It is a meaningful part of your life experience.

It is part of your journey. It is important for Who you are becoming. And it will change and evolve as you do.

For instance, perhaps you have loved running , but now you find it grueling. You may be focusing on the pain it’s causing. You may be coming up with a lot of external reasons this is happening.

But what came first? The decline of your enjoyment or the pain?

Instead of stopping to look at your internal processes, many people jump to the conclusion that the pain came first. This leads to a lot of limiting beliefs and self-judgement.

One of the biggest limiting beliefs that we have as a society is that we decline with age. One way to test if this is true is to look and see if it is a Universal Truth—meaning it is true regardless of who, what, when, or how.

The Truth is being in awesome physical shape is possible at any age.

What happens as we age is that we change, but change does not mean decline unless that is how we define it.

Our minds are powerful enough that if you expect to see decline, you will. And just about everyone believes in this decline and are using all the people who believe it to justify their belief.

Another Truth is that there is no one “right” way to achieve optimal wellness.

What if the change you are experiencing in how you need to feed and move your body has more to do with the experience that is necessary for your evolution of consciousness?

  • Perhaps this is actually the opportunity to take up another activity—such as biking or yoga—which you are even more passionate about?
  • Perhaps this is the opportunity to train smarter or look into other solutions, such as changing running techniques as described in Chi Running and elsewhere.
  • Perhaps slowing down and walking really helps you connect with Who you are and what you want out of this phase of life?

When you stop the negative judgment about the change and instead embrace the process you open up to the possibility of continuing to grow, improve, and evolve—body, mind, and spirit.

How do you know this is the perfect experience you need on your journey to release the weight? Because this is the experience you are having at the moment.

Together we can do it!
